#142 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
My nephew and his teenage son like going to Monster Jam at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Monster Jam is where the really huge jeeps etc go over obstacle courses. They really are ‘monster’ trucks! This year there’s a Monster Jam World Tour so they bought the t-shirts to wear to their night in Cardiff. As it was my great nephew’s birthday a couple of weeks afterwards I decided to design his birthday card around the Monster Jam logo. I asked my nephew to take a photo of the t-shirt so I could use it on the card and this is what I came up with.

I edited the photo so I just had the Monster Jam World Tour image and printed it onto a transparent self-adhesive sheet. I printed a jumper from a My Craft Studio USB, stuck the image onto it and then used the matching die to cut it out. It took four attempts to get the sizing and placement right but I persevered. I then added a couple of mats and foam pads to raise the ‘jumper’ up a little.
Items used:
My Craft Studio: Craft Master A Jumper For All Seasons USB.
Splash Crafts: Easy Peely Transparent Self – Adhesive Sticker Sheets.
Tonic Studios: Classic Card in Pewter Grey.
Green card from my stash.

#140 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
My lovely next door neighbour has just come home from hospital after an operation. She was diagnosed 11 years ago and has been on the waiting list for the past three years. After waiting so long the operation was a major one and took longer than usual. What is happening with our NHS?

I made her a Get Well card and a flower arrangement with Forever Flowerz.

I turned to DoCrafts Digital Designer for this card – I haven’t used it for quite some time. The folder I used is Tulip and Friends. With the Digital Designer you can design the card on screen and print it onto card then fold it in half and you’re done. I didn’t want to make a flat card though so I printed the elements separately, cut them out and layered them up. The flowers have been in my stash for many years but they had dark purple centres. I removed them and added clear dew drops.
The sentiment is from Tonic Studios – Get Well Sentiment Strip Die. And I finished the card off with some lilac gems.
These are the Forever Flowers I made:

#139 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

We’ve heard from our design teamie Aimes after her area was hit by Hurricane Beryl. Both her and her husband are OK but their property has had damage and their power is still intermittent. She has decided to withdraw from the design team for now. We all wish her well and hope she feels able to join us in the future.
I’ve been making a lot of ATCs recently and as some of them have used items that qualify for the CD Sunday Challenge I decided to use them for my design team make. These are for the themes of Birds and Things Beginning with R.

Items used:
All Carnation Crafts.Rabbits and Blue Tits – Dawn of Spring Collection Dawn Friends die set.
Robins – Family Christmas Collection The Robins die set, A Christmas Eve Quick Cards Collection Joys Of Christmas die set and Not Just For Christmas Collection Last Minute Wrapping die set.

#138 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
This challenge was due to be hosted by Aimes but Hurricane Beryl has caused a lot of damage and many people are still without power. We've had a quick message from Aimes and she and her hubby are both OK but the power situation makes it impossible for her to get on line so Carol has stepped in to host this one.
I started making cards back in 2005 – doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun LOL! A year later a made a Welsh themed birthday card for one of my brothers. The family moved to England after dad died and my brother Mark has always missed living in Wales. My Welsh card cheered him up so much that I kept up the trend of making Welsh themed cards for his birthday. I even managed it for the 3 years when my husband was ill and then passed away.
This card is now the nineteenth I’ve made:

The sweater is from a USB by Craft Master using My Craft Studio called A Jumper For All Seasons. It was originally a dull beige colour with areas of grey ‘slub’ effect. I changed the colour to a shade of green that was as near as I could get it to the Welsh flag. I also added an image of the Welsh dragon that I found on the internet. The sweater was then cut using the matching dies – Craft Master Nested Jumper. The USB and dies are meant to be Christmas designs but as soon as I saw them on Create and Craft it sparked this idea!
I die cut the green and red layers using nesting dies from Presscut that have a ‘stitch’ effect on the edges so that they would tie in with the main image of a sweater. I added a few Welsh dragon peel offs to the corners but I’m not sure they add anything to the finished card.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
My make for this challenge is a card for a swap on a forum. The theme was Black and White plus two colours.
I knew that I wanted to use a recent purchase – a set of dies designed by Dawn Wheeler.

I really like the lacy background die and I think the black and white really shows it off. The flower dies come in 4 different sizes which I layered up.

Items used:
Crafts-Too: Boujee by Dawn Wheeler Circle Base and Boujee Blooms die sets.
Craft Artist Essential card – coconut white.
In The Studio by David Wait: A Pop of Colour USB.
Carnation Crafts: Pro Print paper (to print the red and green from the USB.
Limetree Craft: Black Glitter Pearl card.
Pearls from stash.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
I was recently invited to a family celebration – a combined 90th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary.
This is the card I made for the happy couple using Carnation Crafts Standing Tall Card Shapes die set, Golden Age die collection and vignettes.

I used a gold shimmer pen on the hat band, fan and edging around the hem of the dress.

#135 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

Nothing from me for this challenge.
I've been away from home for 7 weeks staying with my brother who's wife died recently. I haven't crafted since April! I came home a few days ago only to be invited to a joint 90th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary party in Somerset. I'm only staying the one night this time. I'm hoping to get back to crafting soon so that I can have something for the next challenge.
Don't forget to visit my teamies' blogs and leave a comment for them.

#133 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

It’s my turn to host the challenge and pick the Top Three.
As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
I made a ‘twofer’! Two cards for the price of one LOL!
The card swap I’m in had a theme of Spring Flowers but sadly only three of us were able to enter this time. I suggested that we made two cards so that we each received two cards back. I didn’t have much time to make my cards before I went visiting relatives for a few weeks. I decided the best thing to do would be to make similar cards.

I’ve used the card base dies previously and really like the shape. I then added die cut crocus, bluebells, tulips and daffodils. I’d cut into the die cuts to layer up the design.
Items used:
Carnation Crafts: Into Spring Card Shape dies, Crocus Chorus dies, Bluebell Delight dies, Daffodil Daydream dies Arrangement Maker dies and all the relevant vignettes from Carnation Crafts.
Tonic Studios: Craft Perfect Buttermilk Yellow card stock.
Craft Artist: Essential card in Coconut White.

#132 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

I succumbed to the current craze doing the rounds on Facebook and made a fractured card. It was a lot easier to make than it looks and you can use up some of your small left over pieces of patterned paper. I searched YouTube for a tutorial on how to make this.
I love Steampunk designs so chose papers from the Steampunk Romance Collection by Creative Crafting World.

Items used:
Creative Crafting World: The Paper Boutique The Paper Pantry Volume VI USB Steampunk Romance Collection. This was originally in paper form but then put onto USB. Dark brown adhesive pearls also from CCW.
Thin white peel offs from my stash.

#131 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

This is the second card I made in January when I had some spare time and had a play/experiment with some of my rarely used stash such as stencils, texture pastes, paints and wooden embellishments.
I made this for someone who likes to sew and alters clothes to fit herself, her daughter and her two granddaughters.

I sized the main image to fit in the middle of the larger card and used green texture paste through a stencil. The central panel was layered onto white card leaving a small border so it would stand out and then raised on 3d foam tape. I printed the pale pink paper and put it back through to print the text on top. I lightened the text so it didn’t overpower the backing paper. The central panel was finished off with a dress form die cut, lace effect paper ribbon and pink pearls.
I edged the base card with a button themed border die cut from pink card and layered onto white card.

 Items used:
Digital Craftorium Eclectic Mix USB: Main image and backing paper.
Crafts Too:  Texture paste – I forgot to make a note of the two colours used!
Couture Creations: Bodice die.
Tonic Studios: Button and Star Strip Die Set.
From stash: Paper lace effect border and pearls.
Script/text downloaded free from internet.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
Every year I’ve made a mermaid themed birthday card for my next door neighbour’s youngest daughter. This time I asked her Mam if she was still into mermaids or was there anything else she liked. My neighbour told me that she still liked mermaids but also witches and butterflies so this is what I came up with:

The backing paper is from Victoria Nelson’s digi kit called Butterfly Meadow that I recoloured in Serif Craft Artist. The witch image was a free download by an amazing artist friend. He used to put his designs on his blog and you could download them for free but sadly he no longer blogs or draws. I also added a three butterflies that have been in my stash for many years.

#129 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

I needed to make a birthday card for a little girl who was going to be one year old. I’d seen that Tonic Studios had brought out a rocking horse die set so I bought it. As she’s only one I used the die cut flat on the card but in the future I’ll make her the 3D version of the rocking horse.

I designed the backing paper in Serif Craft Artist using a pink background and resizing the image of a rocking horse so it was quite small. I also altered the transparency so that the image didn’t stand out too much. The letters and number were cut from pink card in my stash - trying to get all the letters level was a challenge!
Items used:
Tonic Studios: Retro Rocking Horse and ABC Baby Blocks die sets.
Serif Craft Artist digi kits: Victoria Nelson’s Festive Feast Table, Kate Hadfield Under The Tree.
Claina Palmer Designs: Numbers die set.

#128 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

During the Christmas break at the CD Sunday Plus Challenge I decided to have a play/experiment with some of my rarely used stash such as stencils, texture pastes, paints and wooden embellishments.
This is one of the cards I made:

I sized the main image to fit in the middle of the larger card and used green texture paste through a stencil which I then sprinkled with glitter before the paste dried. While I was waiting for the paste to dry I painted the two wooden embellishments and filed them a little and also die cut the word PARIS. The central panel was inked around the edges with black so it would stand out and raised on 3d foam tape.
I printed the pale green paper and put it back through to print the text on top. I lightened the text so it didn’t overpower the green backing paper. The card was finished off with corner dies and tiny pearl gems in the flower centres and the wooden embellishment.

Items used:
Digital Craftorium Eclectic Mix USB: Main image and backing paper.
Crafts Too:  Texture paste – I forgot to make a note of the colour used! Simple Alphabet die set #381 and Delicate Corners JND 276.
From stash: MDF embellishments, black card and pearls.
Script/text downloaded free from internet.

#127 Anthing Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

A really quick and simple make from me this time.
My next door neighbours don’t have a printer and often ask if I’ll print something off for them. This time it was an email confirming a visit to feed a sloth! It was a present for their eldest daughter who loves sloths. There was no way I was going to just print off an email for them to hand to her so I made a card!

The image is a download from the Crafty Witches site called ‘Take It Easy’ which I layered on dark green card and then on a 5x5 card blank. Inside I glued the part of the email that gave the date and time of the event and what was included. I’m hoping I get to see photos of the day!

The challenge will close on Saturday 2nd March 2024 at 1pm.

#126 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

 Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome to the first The CD Sunday Plus Challenge of 2024. I’m host for this challenge and I’ve chosen one of my Christmas makes as my design team offering.
I’ve been using my Scan N Cut more and I wanted to have a go at a layered scene and this is what I came up with:

And this is it with the lights switched on:

The original SVG file had open sides which meant you could see all seven layers and the foam tape between the layers. I didn’t like the look of it so filled the gap with card and then decorated it with silver peeloffs.

Items used:
Downloaded SVG file: Tina Finch Layered Globe Luminaire
White card and peel offs from stash.
Craft Lights: Kit N Caboodle Led string lights.

The challenge will close on Saturday 17th February 2024 at 1pm.
