#61 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

It’s my turn to host the challenge at The CD Sunday Plus Blog for the next two weeks.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.

Regular followers of CD Sunday Plus will know that the blog post is written by Carol. We’ve known each other for a long time and even though we live some distance apart we’ve met up a few times. Hopefully with the country opening back up we may be able to meet again. It was Carol’s birthday recently and this is the card I made for her.

The base card and flowers are from the Carnation Crafts collection called Into Spring. I thought it would be fun to see a little calf peeking through the window and a lamb hiding behind the flowers.

At the same time I made a similar card for a forum card swap. This time I had a mother hen watching over her chicks amongst the daffodils with a rabbit looking on.

Items used:
Carnation Crafts – Card base, Crocus Chorus, Daffodil Daydream and Spring Wildlife (rabbit and chicks) dies and downloadable vignettes from the Into Spring Collection. Connie (the calf) from the Gift of Giving Collection. Queenie (mother hen) and Lando (the lamb) from Rural Charm Collection.

Paper Boutique - both sentiments dies.
The challenge will close on Saturday 5th June 2021 at 1pm.
Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. You must also make a physical item and not a digital one. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

We also have a Facebook page if you don't have a blog - The CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

Fezziwigs Festive Frolics - Let's Get Sentimental

The theme at Fezziwigs Festive Frolics this time is Let’s Get Sentimental. Hazel wants to see sentiments on the front of our Christmas cards. I made a card for the previous theme, which was Flowers, but I didn’t get around to blogging it. Luckily it fits in with the sentiment theme too!

I really like how the flowers turned out. I recently bought some Cut and Emboss folders from Chloe’s Creative Cards and this is the first chance I’ve had to try them out.

I finished the card with lots of white pearls.

Items used:
Carnation Crafts - Square Frame die from Rural Charm Collection.
Creative Crafting World – 8x8 card blank, Season’s Greetings Nested Dies (mistletoe wreath) and sentiment.
Chloe’s Creative Cards - Cut and Emboss Folder called Meadow Flower.
Crafter’s Companion - A Touch of Silver Centura Pearl paper and card.

#60 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

The theme, as usual, is Anything Goes at the CD Sunday Plus Challenge. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.

I subscribe to the Tonic monthly box kit and kit No. 41 had shaker dies in the shape of lollipops. I’ve never made a shaker card before, at least I don’t think I have, so decided to give it a go!

Firstly I designed a backing paper in Serif Craft Artist using the ‘brushes’ called Candy – 100s and 1000s. I dragged the brushes across the whole page until I had the coverage that I wanted.
I then die cut the lollipop hole in the backing paper and glued the shaker cup to the back of the paper. I filled the shaker cup with sequins from previous Tonic kits and then glued the whole thing to a card blank.
The lolly sticks were cut from some brown card that I’ve had forever that has a texture that makes it look like wood.
The smaller lolly die, hugs sentiment stamp and sun stamp were also in the kit, but I cut the sun out using small scalloped circle dies. The pink and yellow card were just scraps from my stash and I then edged the card with a pink and gold border peel off.
It’s a fun card that would be good to send to someone needing cheering up.

The challenge will close on Saturday May 22nd 2021 at 1pm.
