#122 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge
Thanks to everyone
who entered the last challenge. I’ve picked my Top Three favourite entries and they’ll be announced in Challenge #123 on 12th November. You made it
very difficult for me as there were lots of Halloween entries and I love
Halloween!
As usual the theme is
Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a
digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make
a physical item and not a digital one. They were made using
my Scan N Cut and a SVG file bought from Design Bundles. I was able to use
scraps of card for the embellishments which is always a bonus! You can’t
see lolly sticks in the photo because they were pushed into a cardboard box so
the holders would stand up to be photographed. I think my favourites are the
cat and Frankenstein.
The
challenge will close on Saturday 11th November 2023 at 1pm.
Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is
now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or
digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a
stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories.
You must also make a physical item and not a digital one. In your blog
post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

I’ve been using my
Scan N Cut more and I really like all the layered SVG files that are available
these days. Previously I’ve made a Christmas and Easter layered wreath and this
time I’ve made a Halloween one.
The card I used is
quite thin so I’ve cut each layer 4 times and glued them together. There’s 5
layers, each a different colour, and I’ve used foam pads to separate them. It
was quite difficult to add the foam pads as the cut lines are very slim –
especially the top black layer.
The ghosts had
holes for eyes and I couldn’t resist adding googly eyes!
Items used:
Design Bundles: SVG file called Happy Halloween wreath.
Card stock from my stash that I’ve had many years!

#120 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

For this challenge I have a few more ATCs to
share with you. Back in May this year the UK saw the coronation of King Charles
III. The theme for one of my groups was ‘Anything With A Mouse’. This coincided
with Carnation Crafts bringing out a die set and matching downloaded vignettes
to mark the coronation. The dies were the perfect size to fit on ATCs.
In this group we make 2 ATCs for the main theme plus an ‘extra’ ATC on a different theme which this time was ‘Potted Plants’ (the third ATC in the photo above).
I wanted everyone in the group to have a memento
of the coronation so also made these ATCs:
And not to be left out myself I made these to
keep:
Items used:
Carnation Crafts: Proud To Be die set and matching vignette,
Coronation die set and matching vignette.
Serif Craft Artist: Paddington’s Day Out and Rosebudds Garden digi kit.

There’s not a lot
to this card – I used three dies from Carnation Crafts and also added a
sentiment from The Paper Boutique. The flowers were decoupaged using Pinflair
Glue Gel.
Items used:
Carnation Crafts dies and vignettes: Floral Heights Collection (for the flowers and foliage). Perfectly Peaceful (for the background die).
The Paper Boutique: sentiment die.

#118 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

Sometimes a photograph of a card doesn’t show how
much time has been spent on creating it. That’s the case with this card which
was created digitally using Serif Craft Artist. The main image is completely
flat with just two other layers of coloured card.
Creating the image took me quite a while. I
started with the ‘carpet’ which was originally a small rug made up of several
bright colours. I cropped, resized, and recoloured it to turn it into a carpet.
The ‘wall paper’ was simple enough it just needed to have the colour changed. I
then needed something to separate the wall from the carpet. I chose a plant
marker which I cropped and changed the size to make a skirting board! The side
table was cropped to remove a box of tissues and a table lamp, the books were
cropped to make a much smaller pile, the floor lamp changed from red to pink. The
mirror originally had a stand to it which I removed and turned to be landscape.
I added a scene and curtains to the window. Finally the little picture on the
wall (top left) had a family photo added. It’s a photo of the four generations
of women in the recipient’s family. When I pointed it out to the family they
loved that I’d added it.
Items used:
Tonic Studios: Craft Perfect Navy Blue card.
Limetree Crafts: Raspberry Kiss card.
Carnation Crafts: You Made It die set.
Serif Craft Artist digis: Great Grandads, Bloke – Man Flu,
Big School, Christmas Dinner, Home from Home, Veggie Patch (skirting board)
Girls Night In, Venetian Masquerade, Deco Dressing Room.
