#43 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.

My next door neighbour does a lot of DIY and is a handyman for someone with rental properties. He was really impressed with my pop up card in the style of a tool box.

I used a set of dies that were free with Die Cutting Essentials magazine, issue 51. It includes the base die for the box plus dies for all the tools. There’s also a free download for the papers which qualifies it for the CD Sunday Challenge. The ‘pin board’ at the back looks very realistic – for free downloads they were very good quality.

No ‘items used’ list as everything was a printed download onto card from my stash except the tools which were die cut from card in my stash.

The challenge will close on Saturday 12th August  at 1pm.

Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

We also have a Facebook page if you don't have a blog - The CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

#42 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.

Recently my nephew was 10 years old – technically he’s my nephew’s son so my great nephew but I don’t know of anyone who uses that term.

He loves Pokémon and I’m told he really liked the card I made him.

I searched Pinterest for ideas and came across lots of Pokémon images. I printed off a picture that had lots of the characters and luckily had enough to cover every area that was in view on the pop up box. Unfortunately, I can’t credit the person who’s file it was as I forgot to make a note of where I found it.

I then found a link to a blog of someone who had free party printables – For Geeks Oh My Fiesta. After downloading the ones I wanted I took them into Serif Craft Artist to resize them so they would fit the box. I printed them onto light card and then fussy cut them out (my least favourite thing to do!).

I lined the inside of the box with bright yellow card from my stash before putting it together and attaching the characters and number 10 to acetate.

No ‘items used’ list as the white and yellow card was from my stash.

The challenge will close on Saturday 29th August at 1pm. Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. 66th Wedding Anniversary

An aunt and uncle of my late husband’s celebrated 66 years together and I wanted to make a really special card for them as they couldn’t hold a proper celebration with the lockdown and they were both shielding due to age and health issues. I’ve previously made a bow card for a friend’s big birthday and wanted to make another one for the 66th anniversary as they’re quite a ‘show stopper’ card. The first time I cut it out by hand which I don’t enjoy doing so for this one I used the SVG cutting file and cut it out on my Brother Scan N Cut.

The papers, both the flowery and the plain, are from The Paper Boutique range by Creative Crafting World. The collection is called Blossoms In The Breeze. I die cut the hexagonal card base using Presscut Plain Hexagons dies from Crafts-too.

There are two layers to the bow part of the card and once glued together they leave quite a large dip in the middle so I filled it with lace. I slip stitched around the edge of the lace then gathered it up and joined the ends.

The plain pink plaque in the middle is cut using a Spellbinders Sapphire Pierced Tag die that I had in a Create and Craft goody bag at the NEC and the Happy Anniversary is a Paper Boutique Doily Die.

I finished the card off with pearl number  won in a Hochands tombola at the NEC. And the 3 strips of pearls were cut from a long strip of pearls.

The inside was also decorated using the same paper pack.

On the same day as their wedding anniversary it was also Uncle Jim’s 86th birthday. He has a great sense of humour so I made him this card which he loved.

#41 - Anything Goes CD Sunday Plus

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.
My card this time was inspired by another card I’d made, it didn’t have anything printed from a CD or a digital item but I liked it so decided to make a ‘similar’ digital version. A photo of the original design is at the end of this post.

I turned to my faithful Serif Craft Artist to make this card. I started with the image of the dressing table. The only items already on the dressing table were the perfume bottles and lamp. I added, resized and changed the colours of the lipsticks, nail varnish, hair brush and hair dryer. This was printed onto card and cut using a square die.
I then copied the image onto a new page made it much smaller and using the ‘stamp’ option copied it across a page to make a backing paper.

Everything was backed onto black glitter card to make the colours ‘pop’ – the deeper pink backing paper is also from Craft Artist.

Creative Crafting World Paper Boutique: 7’’ x 10’’ card blank and Happy Birthday Doily Die
Serif Craft Artist: Digi kits used - Deco Dressing Room, A Merry Little Christmas, PJ Party and Out On The Town.
Lime Tree Crafts: black glitter card.
Dovecraft: Kiss and Makeup stickers.

The original card that my design team entry was based on:

 Items used:
Creative Crafting World Paper Boutique: 7’’ x 10’’ card blank, Happy Anniversary Doily Die, black card and pink card from Blossoms in the Breeze collection.
Everything else is from a Dovecraft collection called Kiss and Make up. It was a huge prize I received from Quick Cards Made Easy magazine (no longer being published) that I have for quite a while and never used.

The challenge will close on Saturday 15th August at 1pm.
