CD Sunday - Let's Go Lilac Theme

As I said in my previous post this will be the last challenge I can enter at CD Sunday as from 2 weeks time I'll be on the design team. The 4 new members of the DT are allowed to enter this challenge but won't be able to win the prize.
The theme is Jocelyn's choice and it's good timing for me as I have a wedding anniversary card to make and the wife's favourite colour is lilac.

I chose 3 papers from a CD by Creative Crafting World called Perfect Floral Companions. I cut the papers into 9 squares and inked the edges. I usually get in a terrible mess inking edges but this time it went ok. The squares where arranged onto white card and then a lilac mat made from Bazzil card stock. I also printed off a sentiment and this was placed on the bottom right square. The card blank is an 8 by 8 also from the Creative Crafting World web site.
The challenge runs until 11th June so plenty of time to get your entries in. And there's a prize for the person who's card is chosen as the winner by Jocelyn.

I have news!

It's time for a new theme at CD Sunday - Let's Go Lilac. I haven't made a card yet but I will do because this is the last challenge I'll be able to enter - as I've been picked to be on the Design Team! I've followed the challenge since the third week. I've not always been able to enter, due to other commitments, but I always look forward to seeing what the new theme is each time.  The new DT members will be up and running in 2 weeks time to give us time to make something for our first challenge as team members. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have loads of ideas running through my head and intend spending time in my craft studio today as I can't concentrate on anything with my head full of crafting! I hope my efforts will help to encourage others to enter the challenge as there's always a prize on offer provided by one of the DT members - and you get to display the CD Sunday winners logo on your blog. By the way you don't have to have a blog to enter, you can email your entry and it will be included in the challenge. Good luck everyone and I look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving comments for you.

Somthing beginning with B - 2

I'm really enjoying my crafting at the moment and spent quite a bit of time in my craft studio last weekend which resulted in a second card for the CD Sunday challenge. This time my 'Something beginning with B' is Beach, although it could also be Birthday or even Baby sister. She will be 47 on her birthday but she's still my baby sister!
I've used a Joanna Sheen Cd called the Faye Whittaker Collection, I love the images on this cd and should use it more often. I printed the topper and the 2 backing papers onto Iced Diamond card to give the scene a shimmery look. I cropped and resized the sky/sea and sand papers until they lined up with the sky and sea line on the topper. I then covered the join with a piece of ribbon that I've had for ages and chose similar colours for the mats and layers. The pink mat is glitter card and the orange one is white card coloured with a Promarker as I couldn't find the right shade of orange in my vast stash!

I then remembered I had some embellishments that would tie in with the beach scene. The star fish was originally pale lilac but I coloured it blue with a Promarker.

The insert was finished off with an offcut from the sky/sea backing paper.

Something beginning with B - 1

CD Sunday have chosen a theme of 'Something beginning with B'. My card covers several 'B's - Birthday/Boy/Bike!

I've used a Nikki Hall Polka Doodle Cd called PrettyTuff for both the image and the backing paper. The little boy's name has been die cut using a set of dies from First Edition Craft. They were sent to me by a craft magazine, along with several other craft items, as an apology for a mistake they made with my subscription.

I've used an offcut from the BP to decorate the inside of the card.

The challenge runs until Saturday 28th May at 1pm and there is a prize for the person who's card is chosen as the winner.

Songs from the movies 2

I managed to make 2 cards for the CD Sunday Challenge this time. The theme is 'Songs from the movies'.This card is one I made for a resident at the care home I work for who will be 90 on Friday. She loves pink so I just had to make her a pink card.

I've used a sheet of deep pink backing paper that came in a magazine. The die is a brand new one from Tonic and the sentiment banner was a members' gift from Create & Craft, also from Tonic. The 90 is a really old rub on from my stash. I'm not sure where the resin flowers are from, they might also have been free with a magazine.
Entries into the CD Sunday Challenge must include something from a CD rom and this is it:

I printed out this sheet quite sometime ago but never used it. So I've had to check a couple of CDs to find out which one I printed it from. It was one of my (current) favourite CDs by Creative Crafting World - Perfect Floral Companions. I then stamped Happy Birthday onto white card and used a die to cut out a mat.

Again I searched Google to find a song from a movie and I came up with 'Pretty in Pink' which is the name of both the song and the film it came from.
So 2 entries from me this time - will the design team faint from shock? LOL!

Songs from the movies 1

I don't watch many films so I had to turn to Google for some help with the theme at CD Sunday - songs from the movies.
I managed to spend a lot of time crafting last weekend and made a card for my niece's birthday. Like me she loves cats so her card had to have at least one cat on it. I knew I'd find something suitable on the Charismatic Cats CD by Creative Crafting World.

Just one or two cats LOL! I also used some Tonic cat dies and the sentiment banner was a members' free gift from Create and Craft.

And the song I chose is 'Everybody wants to be a cat' from the Disney film 'The Aristocats'

I came third with this card.
