It’s my turn to host the challenge and I’ll be picking my Top Three from everyone’s entries. As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.

My late husband worked with a woman who is very stylish and loves her shopping. She’s stayed in touch with me even though I only met her when she visited hubby in hospital. I like to design her birthday card around her love of shoes and handbags and shopping!

When I made a card for challenge 113 I had some backing paper left over which I used for this DL card. I edited a couple of items from Craft Artist digi kits to use in the scene. The striped carpet is a rug and the skirting board was a plant label! The rest of the items are from Carnation Crafts.

#114 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

I like using Serif Craft Artist to design scenes or backgrounds for my cards. For this card I needed to ‘ground’ the die cut mice. I found an image of a table which I resized to fit my card blank. I cropped the image to remove the table legs so I just had a table top. But it was black so I recoloured it.

#113 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

I enjoy making birthday cards for one of my nieces because she loves cats as much as I do. It gives me the chance to use some of my vast amount of cat related craft stash!

This looks quite a simple card to make – backing paper printed from a CD, and a die cut. But I cut the cats from different coloured card and paper pieced them into the main die. Some of the pieces were quite thin so I had to handle them with tweezers.

I cut the shanks off the back of two cat buttons and added those. I told my niece that I rarely gave people my cat buttons and she had two on her card LOL!

#112 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

Cards for men – don’t we all struggle with them? I recently came across a card designed to look like a shirt. My late husband always short sleeved shirts to work and some of the papers I printed off looked just like his shirts.

I used mats of black card to give an edge to the various elements and finished off with black buttons. 

I knew collecting all those hundreds of buttons was a good idea!  

I then went on to make a few more!

 

 

 And finally the next one doesn’t qualify for the CD Sunday challenge as there’s isn’t anything digital on it. My godson has just joined the Royal Navy Reserves as an officer. This is the card I made him:

 Proper metal buttons and a tie made from ribbon! 

He loved it and has it pinned above his desk.
