#55 Anything Goes-The CD Sunday Plus Challenge

It’s come around to my turn to host the CD Sunday Plus Challenge again. The theme, as usual, is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.

I’m from a large family of 5 boys and 4 girls. We grew up in groups of three with age gaps between the three groups and I’m in the middle group. We’re not a close family – rarely talk on the phone and the others don’t send birthday cards etc unless it’s a big birthday. Being a crafter I try and make cards for all of their birthdays. I’m closest to my sister who is 2 years older than me and her birthday is in March. So this is the card I made for her.

The front:

 And the back:

It’s been cut using a Crafter’s Companion Circle Accordion Die and the Filigree Circle Overlay die set. The smaller circles are cut using Presscut Stitch Dot Nesting Circles and the sentiment is from Paper Boutique Happy Birthday Doily Die set. The papers are a mixture from a USB and a printed paper pack both from Creative Crafting World.

The USB is called The Paper Pantry Vol II and the collection is Springtime Pals. The paper pack is also called Springtime Pals and I’ve used things from the Die Cut Collection, the Insert Collection and the Essential Card Collection.

This card was a nightmare to make! I remade it several times and wasn’t completely happy with the end result. The tiny ‘hinges’ that make the circles twist around kept breaking off and the joins holding the circles together kept pulling away. But I liked the colours and images so persevered.

These are my favourite bits:

The challenge will close on Saturday 13th March 2021 at 1pm.

Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. You must also make a physical item and not a digital one. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

We also have a Facebook page if you don't have a blog - The CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

#54 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

I planned on sending some craft stash to a couple of people and decided to make cards to go in the package. They’re simple, quick cards but I think they came out quite pretty.

I cut the pink and purple filigree out using the Cascades Card Shape dies, part of the 'Perfectly Peaceful' Collection, from Carnation Crafts. The lantern and vignette are also from Carnation Crafts - Floral Lantern die, part of the 'Kind Thoughts Collection'

I finished one off with a matching ribbon bow and added gems to both cards.
The purple card was sent to someone I know in Scotland along with some mini calendars. She makes a lot of things that she then sells to raise money for local charities. Sometimes she sends her makes to the local women’s refuge or care homes to be gifted to residents. The mini calendars were free with some items I’d bought so I’m more than happy to send them to her to turn into calendars.
The challenge will close on Saturday 27th February 2021 at 1pm.
