#146 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

As usual the theme is Anything Goes at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
My lovely next door neighbours recently celebrated 25 years of married life. They’re such lovely people and brilliant neighbours so I wanted to make a special card for them. There’s only one craft company to turn to in order to make a very special card and that’s Carnation Crafts!

The base card is cut from silver mirror card using Carnation’s Into Spring Card Shape. I then cut the included filigree dies from silver glitter card. The bride and groom are dies and vignettes from the Happy Couple dies. I added a 25 and Happy Anniversary die cut to finish off the card.

Items used:
Carnation Crafts: Happy Couple die set from the Perfect Day Collection and Into Spring Card Shape die from the Into Spring Collection.
The Paper Boutique: Happy Anniversary die from Sentiments Volume IV.
Claina Palma: 25 dies from the Numbers set.
Crafts Too: Silver Glitter Card – non shed.
Silver mirror card from my stash.

The challenge will close on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at 1pm.

Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. You must also make a physical item and not a digital one. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

#140 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

My lovely next door neighbour has just come home from hospital after an operation. She was diagnosed 11 years ago and has been on the waiting list for the past three years. After waiting so long the operation was a major one and took longer than usual. What is happening with our NHS?

I made her a Get Well card and a flower arrangement with Forever Flowerz.

I turned to DoCrafts Digital Designer for this card – I haven’t used it for quite some time. The folder I used is Tulip and Friends. With the Digital Designer you can design the card on screen and print it onto card then fold it in half and you’re done. I didn’t want to make a flat card though so I printed the elements separately, cut them out and layered them up. The flowers have been in my stash for many years but they had dark purple centres. I removed them and added clear dew drops.
The sentiment is from Tonic Studios – Get Well Sentiment Strip Die. And I finished the card off with some lilac gems.
These are the Forever Flowers I made:

#127 Anthing Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

A really quick and simple make from me this time.
My next door neighbours don’t have a printer and often ask if I’ll print something off for them. This time it was an email confirming a visit to feed a sloth! It was a present for their eldest daughter who loves sloths. There was no way I was going to just print off an email for them to hand to her so I made a card!

The image is a download from the Crafty Witches site called ‘Take It Easy’ which I layered on dark green card and then on a 5x5 card blank. Inside I glued the part of the email that gave the date and time of the event and what was included. I’m hoping I get to see photos of the day!

The end of December is my next door neighbours’ youngest daughter’s birthday. As it was to be her 18th birthday I wanted to make more than a card. She always puts my makes up on her bedroom wall so I decided to do a framed cross-stitch of a mermaid. She loves mermaids unlike her older sister who likes goth/punk/skulls!
The pattern is by Lucie Heaton and I bought it through her Etsy shop and downloaded it. I couldn’t start it until after I’d made all my Christmas cards so it was a rush to get it done. I had to omit the rocks and sea plants at the bottom of the design and moved the shell and star to fill the gap.

The frame was made using Tonic Tailored Frames dies and Hunkydory Adorable Scoreable card – and no it didn’t crack when folded!

I just love all these quirky little creatures!

My next door neighbours’ daughter likes goth/steampunk/day of the dead things. I always try and make something along these lines and this year went with Day of the Dead. I have a Scan N Cut that I don’t use very often but I knew I had a USB with a Day of the Dead skull on it. The USB is by Cutting Craftorium called Pick and Mix.. I’ve never drawn then cut with my SnC so enjoyed learning how to do this.

The backing paper I designed in Serif Craft Artist using a skull image by Lauren C Waterworth. The digi kit is called Gothic Fairytale. The yellow background is from Easter Wishes digi kit. I enjoy designing my own papers in Craft Artist. There’s no sentiment on the front of the card because the young lady likes to frame my cards and hang them in her room.

The skull is made from five layers and the colourful decorations are all drawn and cut individually.

#69 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

As usual the theme at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one
I’d finished making a card for a future CD Sunday Plus challenge and had some scraps of paper left on my desk. They were heading for the recycling when I changed my mind and made a wedding anniversary card for my next door neighbours with them.

The card blank is a 5 by 7 inch landscape card but I’ve turned it so the fold is at the top (a tent fold). I covered the card blank with backing paper that was a free download from Papercraft Essentials issue 200. You don’t need to buy the magazine to access the downloads – they’re on the Craft World website. I think you need to join the site to access them.

I had a new set of dies on my desk and they fitted the card blank - result! There are 5 dies in the set but I’ve only used the largest and smallest – for the mat behind the flower.

I made the flower using more of the printed paper and a cut and emboss folder. I like these folders so much they now sit permanently on my desk. Only thing is most of my cards now have flowers on them LOL!

I finished the card with a sentiment and backing layer cut using the same card and paper. I also added some large half pearls in pink and white.

Items used:
Creative Crafting World: 5 by 7 landscape card blank and Happy Anniversary die.
Crafts Too John Next Door: Oundle die set.
Tonic Studios: Craft Perfect card in Ballet Pink.
Chloe’s Creative Cards: Cut and Emboss Folder Mystical Flower.

#68 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

As usual the theme at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
For my Design Team make this time I’ve chosen a card I made for my next door neighbour. He’s very hands on with DIY and he works as a caretaker/handyman at a local school. I knew I had a CD rom with the perfect image and background scene.

I covered a card blank with silver mirror card and then glued the ‘shed’ image onto it. The man was from a decoupage sheet on the CD and holds a pint of beer in his left hand. I didn’t want this in the final image so I searched my Craft Artist digikits and found a mug that was suitable which fitted perfectly in his hand hiding the pint glass! I don’t enjoy fussy cutting as I’m not very good at it but managed to cut out three layers of decoupage and they don’t look too bad.

I die cut lots of nuts, bolts and tools from mirror card and placed them around the shed. The centres of the nuts are little circles and would normally be waste but I used them to hang up some of the tools and I think they worked!

 Items used:
Creative Crafting World: landscape base card 5 x 7.
Just Inklined The Big One CD: Framin’ Cards Set 2 – DIY Tool Shed #1 for the background. Flippin’ Men Flippin’ DIY decoupage sheet for the guy.
Tools were all cut using a set of dies free with Die Cutting Essentials Issue 51.
