Anything Goes #32 - CD Sunday Plus

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.
I buy quite a few craft magazines and often use the card designs in them for inspiration. My cards don’t end up looking exactly the same because I use what items I have here and put my spin on it.
Some of my late husband's work colleagues have stayed in touch. One guy in particular messages me regularly and he visits me at home or we meet up in town for a cuppa. He likes cycling and will go on really long bike rides. He’s currently training to do a charity ride with a friend from John O’Groats to Land’s End. So his birthday card just had to have a bicycle on it! There was a great design in Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine (issue 199) that I knew would be perfect and I had a bicycle die! I chopped the basket off that was at the front of the bike!

The backing paper was designed by me in Serif Craft Artist using two bicycle images, grouped together and then using the rubber stamp feature to fill the page. I also changed the colours as one bike was blue and one was green.

Items used:

8x8 card blank from Creative Crafting World.
Dark navy blue card is from a Hunkydory kit I won in a magazine prize draw.
Grey card is Tonic’s Craft Perfect in Pewter Grey which is embossed using a folder that was free with Love Cardmaking International magazine (issue 5).
Bicycle die was free in Paper craft Essentials magazine (issue 172) and is by Dies by Chloe.
Sentiment and backing plate is from The Paper Boutique Sentiments Vol XX.
Digi Kits are Daisy Trail Hobbies – Home From Home and Birthday by Victoria Nelson.
The challenge will close on Saturday 11th April at 1pm.
Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

Sister's birthday card

Not a post or card for the CD Sunday Challenge blog LOL! I do sometimes make cards where I haven’t used something printed off a craft CD.

I buy a lot of craft stash by Creative Crafting World especially their dies but more recently their  paper pads both of which come under the Paper Boutique range. They have really beautiful papers and designs and I wanted to use some to make a card was for my oldest sister’s birthday.

Items used:
8x8 card blank from Creative Crafting World.
Papers, topper, border and insert from The Paper Boutique The Walled Garden collection.
Flower frame and backing plate are Paper Boutique die – Because Is My Favourite Reason Doily Die Set.
Topper was cut using a Tonic Studio Stitched Dot Square Layering Die.
Die used for insert is a Card Making Magic by Christina Griffiths which I won in a prize draw.

Anything Goes #31 - CD Sunday Plus

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes and I decided to make a Christmas card! You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.

I picked a topper from a CD by Ooh La La Creations called Festive Funnies,. The image is called ‘Bird Brain’ and Santa can’t get down the chimney because the eagle (?) has made a nest on the top! I printed it onto card and cut it out using a die and then used the rest of the dies from the set to make mats.

I then created the backing paper in Serif Craft Artist to match the sentiment on the topper.

The card is finished off with die cut snowflakes in the corners and a few sparkly gems.

 Items used:

Cd by Ooh La La Creations – Festive Funnies.

Backing paper created in Serif Craft Artist.

Card blank and dies are from Creative Crafting World – Paper Boutique Christmas is Here Doily Die Set.

White and blue card from my stash.

The challenge will close on Saturday 28th March at 1pm.

Anything Goes #30 - CD Sunday Plus

Ooops! Sorry this is late. When I scheduled the post I clicked on the wrong date.

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes but you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download. And you must state where the item used is from.

Whilst looking through my Serif Craft Artist digi kits I came across a pretty backing paper and just had to make a card using it. It’s so pretty I didn’t want to cover too much of it up so opted for a frame.

I used a glitter pen on the bees wings.

I had enough backing paper left to put inside the card. I also printed the green version of this paper so will have to make another card using that because I think they’re too pretty to waste.

Items used:

Backing paper from Serif Craft Artist (I think it’s a Daisy Trail digi kit) - called Home From Home.

Dark brown card is from my stash and the yellow and honey coloured card is Tonic Craft Perfect.

The frame, bees and sentiment dies are Paper Boutique Bee Happy Doily Die set.

The challenge will close on Saturday 14th March at 1pm.
