#50 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

The theme for the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes. You must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download and you must state where the item used is from.
Thanks to everyone who entered the last challenge which I was hosting. It was great to see so many entries, some from new people too. I’ll be picking my Top Three over the next few days and Carol will announce them on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog on 3rd January 2021.

This is my design team make for this fortnight’s challenge:

I started with a 7 by 7 inch card blank but cut it down to 6.5 by 6.5 inches as I needed the finished card to fit in a box that held a present. I then cut another piece of card to 6.5 inch square which would become the card front with the finished design on. I was going to wrap acetate around the design once it was finished, gluing it to the back so I wanted to hide the back of the card by gluing it to the card blank.

I then turned to my trusty Serif Craft Artist to look for a snowy winter scene for the background of my card. But I couldn’t find one!  I had to settle for a ‘Layout’ of a Manhattan Winter and then delete all the items I didn’t want – all 32 of them! I printed the scene out and attached it to the piece of card stock. I’d already downloaded the vignettes from Carnation Crafts and die cut the elements I wanted so I then glued them to the winter scene with Pinflair glue gel to add some height.

I’d recently bought a bottle of ‘snow’ effect and added it to the house, trees and fence where snow had been printed in the vignette.

I also used a Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add sparkle to some of the flat areas of snow, the snow man and Santa’s fur on his clothes.

I’ve had some snow effect acetate for many years but never used it but it was just what I needed to finish of this card. I attached the acetate to the piece of card with the scene on by sticking it to the back on one side. I then brought it around to the front of the card and ‘bowed’ it before sticking it to the back of the other side. I could now glue the design to the front of the card blank, hiding where the acetate had been joined on. I’ve taken a couple of photos to show the bow front – one is taken from above looking down through the card.

Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

We also have a Facebook page if you don't have a blog - The CD Sunday Plus Challenge.
