#86 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

Thanks to everyone who joined in with the last challenge where I was host. I’ll be picking my Top Three from all the incredible entries. Carol is back hosting for this challenge. And fittingly my make for this challenge is the card I sent to Carol for her birthday earlier this year. I love making cards for Carol. We’ve been friends for many years (I think it’s since 2006) and she’s always so kind about my makes.

Carol says she always makes square cards so I try to send her anything but a square card LOL!
This card started as a square but I cut the front in half diagonally. The card base was covered in a paper downloaded from Carnation Crafts the Moments in Time Collection. I then cut out the Stand Out Daisy Frame square using pink and purple card from a Carnation Cards Perfect Papers pack – it’s actually card weight not paper. This was glued so it hung over the edge of the card front. I then printed out loads of the flower vignettes for the Moments In Time collection and die cut them.

I spent ages arranging the flowers until I was happy but it was worth the effort and I enjoyed it. I finished the card off with some purple half pearls and yellow Nuvo drops. I’m not sur I like the drops on the pink Daisy Frame die cut.

Items used:
Carnation Crafts: Backing paper and flower vignettes downloaded from Carnation Crafts website. Moments In Time dies used – Stand Out Daisy Frame, Lily, Granny’s Bonnet and Drumstick Alliums.
Creative Crafting World: The Paper Boutique Sentiments Vol II.
Tonic Studios: Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow.

The challenge will close on Saturday 11th June 2022 at 1pm.

Don't forget that the CD Sunday Plus Challenge is now about making items using something printed from a craft CD Rom, USB or digital download. You can use other craft items on your card/project, such as a stamp or die, but you must include something printed from the new categories. You must also make a physical item and not a digital one. In your blog post/Facebook entry you must give the name of the printed item you've used.

We also have a Facebook page if you don't have a blog - The CD Sunday Plus Challenge.

#85 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

The host for this fortnight’s challenge was supposed to be Carol but as she’s due to have some medical treatment I’ve swapped with her and she will be host for the challenge following this one. I’m sure we all send Carol our good wishes and fingers crossed she’ll soon be free from pain.
As usual the theme at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one.
My make is a card for the forum birthday swap that I’m in. I fancied making a pointed crossover card so made the base card using an 8 by 8 inch card blank. I covered the inside with a dark green paper. The three front sections I cover with a very pretty floral paper from a Paper Boutique kit – A Garden In Provence. Having made the base card I then needed something to put in the centre and decided to use a butterfly die by Paula Pascual. She’s released a range of journal dies called Miss P Loves Boundless Journal dies and one set is a huge butterfly.
I printed out a paper from a Digital Portfolio USB which I then die cut the butterfly from. That was then backed by a paper from my stash. I don’t have any details of what it’s called but it has almost a fabric feel to it and looks a different colour depending on how the light falls on it.

Inside the card I used more of the Garden in Provence paper and used a butterfly border die down the edges and backed it with white. I then added a Happy Birthday sentiment cut out of scraps left from the papers already used.

Items used:
Creative Crafting World: 8 by 8 inch card blank, pink flowery paper from The Paper Boutique A Garden in Provence 8 by 8 paper pad, green card from one of their card packs, square die from The Paper Boutique Happy Birthday die set and Happy Birthday die from their sentiments Vol. II.
Miss P Loves: Boundless Journal Butterfly Page MPL011.
Create and Craft: Digital Portfolio Metallic Paper Effects Vol.14.
Crafter’s Companion: Scattered Butterflies border die

The challenge will close on Saturday 28th May 2022 at 1pm.

#84 Anything Goes - CD Sunday Plus Challenge

As usual the theme at The CD Sunday Plus Challenge is Anything Goes - remember you must have used something printed from a CD, a USB or a digital download, you must state where the item used is from and you must make a physical item and not a digital one
For the challenge this time I thought I’d share ATCs that I made for a forum ATC swap. The theme was Egging You On and we could use any designs as long as there was an egg on the ATC somewhere. We only need to make 2 ATCs but most of us make far more than that – I made 8 altogether!
Six of them were designed in Serif Craft artist using various digi kits - three by Victoria Nelson - Easter Eggs, Birds and Blooms, Enchanted Ruin. Plus Kate Hadfield’s Prehistoric and Daisy Trail’s Stroll in The Park and Dawn Chorus.

The first two ATCs have backgrounds from digikits and the chicks are fussy cut from an Hunkydory kit. The egg tree is an image from a digi kit with sky and grass combined to make a scene again using digi kits.

The two spotty birds ATCs have backgrounds and the bird images from the Hunkydory kit. The nests are from digi kits but the eggs were recoloured in Craft Artist before printing and fussy cutting them. The eggs were really tiny so fussy cutting them was a real labour of love – I must be mad! The last ATC with the duckling was from the Hunkydory kit and I added the cracking egg and broken egg shells. Again they were recoloured and resized in Craft Artist before fussy cutting out.
The final two ATCs didn’t have any digital elements but I thought you might still like to see them. The baking one is from a magazine kit and the other one is cut from ‘oil on water’ effect card that I’ve had many years.
