Songs from the movies 1

I don't watch many films so I had to turn to Google for some help with the theme at CD Sunday - songs from the movies.
I managed to spend a lot of time crafting last weekend and made a card for my niece's birthday. Like me she loves cats so her card had to have at least one cat on it. I knew I'd find something suitable on the Charismatic Cats CD by Creative Crafting World.

Just one or two cats LOL! I also used some Tonic cat dies and the sentiment banner was a members' free gift from Create and Craft.

And the song I chose is 'Everybody wants to be a cat' from the Disney film 'The Aristocats'

I came third with this card.

CD Sunday - 6th birthday celebration!

CD Sunday are celebrating their 6th birthday and instead of choosing a theme they want us to backlink to a card that we've previously entered into one of their challenges.

I've entered over 40 of their challenges over the six years so knew this wasn't going to be an easy decision.

In the early days the challenge was weekly and I found out about it in time to enter the 3rd challenge so at first I thought I would backlink to that card. Then I remembered a Christmas card I entered into a challenge in November of last year which I really liked and thought I'd backlink to that card. Or should it be one of the items I made when I was a guest designer in October 2011 and March 2012? Decisions, decisions! Eventually I chose a card that proved to be a winner in more ways than one!

The theme was chosen by Jocelyn using a photo she'd picked as inspiration. She chose this card as number 1 in the top three entries for that week - 22 August 2015. The design is called cathedral Window and I followed the instructions from Quick Cards Made Easy craft magazine I sent them a photo and told them it had won me a prize in a blog challenge. They printed it on their letters page and I received a prize from them too LOL! Thanks for the inspiration Jocelyn!

Button It Valentine!

This time last week I was making a Valentine card for my hubby but I'm only now getting around to blogging it. As I've added buttons to the card I'm entering it into the CD Sunday challenge - Add a button or buttons.

I used some new Tonic dies to make a Flip Flop card.The heart backing paper is from Docrafts Digital Designer Favourites Edition - Forever Friends. It's such a shame Docrafts haven't added to their library of CD Roms a have some lovely designs by them.
Flip Flop cards are difficult to photograph and to add to matters I've used Mirri card too!

         

The central die cut in this photo was cut using a free die from Die Cutting essentials magazine issue 7. In the next photo the backing paper has reflected in the Mirri card - there isn't anything in the middle of the red Mirri heart.

The heart buttons were originally lilac but I coloured them using a Promarker. And yes Carol - they were cut off a pair of my pyjamas!

The sentiment was put on the back of the card as I wanted to keep it private. Our beloved cat has mouth cancer and we're both very upset so the sentiment reflected what we are going through at the moment.

Seasons - C D Sunday

CD Sunday has chosen the theme of Seasons this time around. While I'm writing this it's pouring with rain and more like November - the back garden is like a lake. My card is Summer although the staples I've used are from a set called Spring LOL!

The backing paper and topper are from a cd called Pamela West's Dayze of Innocence. Unfortunately this cd is no longer available to buy.
The topper is printed onto vellum and attached using staples by Craft Geek and a little tool called Pin It.

Happy New Year 2016!

The theme at CD Sunday this time is 'Ring in the New Year'. In keeping with the theme I've included bells on my card. I've used 2 Tonic dies and backed the cut outs with with printable vellum.

The vellum was printed with a design from a Cd by Christine Coleman - Parchment with Flowers. The card is finished off with a lemon bow,some Tonic crystal drops and gold 2016 peel off numbers.
I've had to scan the card and the photo is awful! I'm off out and when I get back I'll take a better photo and swap it. A short but sweet post as hubby is waiting for me.
