Simply Square Two!

I'm pushing my luck here but I've just finished making a second card for the CD Sunday Challenge Simply Square. It's way past the 1pm deadline but it's not a sponsored week so hopefully I've managed to sneak it past Jenny LOL!
A work colleague asked me to make a Christmas card for her mother. My colleague has lost her dad this year so wanted something special to give to her Mam. I took a craft magazine into work and showed her a card design which she liked so this is my interpretation of it.

Mirri card is very difficult to photograph - the colour is a bright red as in the swirl at the bottom left. The cd I've used was free with  Complete Cardmaking with your PC (Issue 46). I've used the text backing paper and the 2 topper images of Barkley which were all printed on photo paper. The Merry Christmas die cut (cut from red Mirri) has a Santa hat hanging over the 'M' and I've used some shiny glittery 'stuff' (similar to Stickles but cheaper) on the bobble and the edging of the hat. The 'To Mam' was made in Craft Artist and I'm quite pleased with the colour match. There's lots of mats, layers and die cuts on this one - not my usual style and I must admit I've become a bit bored with it because of the length of time it's taken me to make it. I've still got the insert to do but will check with my colleague on Monday as to how she wants it.
The dies I've used are:
Sizzix - Merry Christmas with Holly Sizzlit
Cheery Lynn -  Tropical Flourish
Marianne Design Craftables - Passe-Partout Round
XCut -  Nesting Dies Circles

  3. Well Pamela I know we set a 1pm deadline but that is really only for me to be able to use Mr Linky in the post for Sunday when I write it a day early so you're in luck this week and it would be such a shame to miss such a pretty card. I'm sure the lady who it is for will be delighted with it.
Well done on 2 cards in a week but you're still skidding in under line at the last minute, keep it up!
